Liverpool are ready to make a huge change to their squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
Arne Slot will soon begin Liverpool’s pre-season preparations, his first since replacing Jurgen Klopp in the Anfield dugout.
It’s been a quiet transfer window on Merseyside thus far with the club passing up the opportunity to make a move for Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon after the Magpies offered up the winger amid their issues with PSR regulations.
Slot will work with new sporting director Richard Hughes to work on new signings and there could be huge changes coming if new reports are to be believed.
All eyes are on this summer’s European Championship during the break from Premier League action and Liverpool could be set to make a move for one of the stars of the tournament.
Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams has been in fine form for Spain, notching a goal and an assist in his three appearances so far.
The 21-year-old is attracting interest from all around the globe and local Spanish newspaper ABC claim Liverpool are ready to pay his £50m release clause ‘in full’ to fend off competition from Chelsea and Barcelona.
Bilbao want to keep their star forward for one more season but the report claims the financial opportunities on offer at other clubs could make it difficult for the Spanish side to retain his services.
A move for Williams could coincide with reports that Liverpool are ready to listen to offers for Luis Diaz this summer.

The 27-year-old has been linked with both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain during the summer window and Football Insider claim Anfield bosses are looking to improve their options on the left of the attack.
Diaz made 37 Premier League appearances last season, scoring eight goals and registering five assists, but a move for Williams could leave Liverpool overstocked in his position.
Despite speculation over his future, Diaz stated in June that he was happy on Merseyside and was relaxed over his situation.
He told Gol Caracol: “I’m very happy there at Liverpool, it’s a great team and club, I’ve always wanted to play there, so I’m very happy and relaxed.
“I’m not thinking about anything else, I’m thinking about the Colombia national team, which is where we are.”
