England team news has been ‘leaked’ ahead of Thursday’s Nations League clash against Greece at Wembley – with one notable surprise.
The Three Lions are looking to make it three wins out of three under interim boss Lee Carsley, and three Nations League wins.
Carsley made several changes to the squad from last month’s matches, with Jude Bellingham returning after suffering a foot injury.
Tino Livramento, Curtis Jones and Dominic Solanke have received call-ups, with Kyle Walker also back in the squad.
According to the Daily Mail, Carsley is looking to freshen up his starting XI at Wembley.
It is claimed that Bellingham has been training as a centre forward at St George’s Park, with the Real Madrid star operating in a ‘false nine’ role.
Cole Palmer and Phil Foden have also trained in attacking roles, with Carsley preparing to shake up his starting XI significantly from the wins over Republic of Ireland and Greece.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Levi Colwill are expected to be selected at right-back and centre-back respectively, while John Stones will captain the side.
Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Anthony Gordon and Rico Lewis are also expected to start at Wembley.
Stones will captain England in the absence of Harry Kane, who limped off in the latter stages of Bayern Munich’s 3-3 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.
While Kane has travelled to be part of the squad, Carsley has confirmed that England will take ‘no chances’ over his fitness.
Speaking in a press conference on Wednesday, the interim manager said: “Harry’s nursing an injury. A small knock. It’s something we won’t take a chance with.
“We’re not ruling him out yet of the game, but he won’t start the game. He’ll be in contention then for Sunday.
“Time will tell. It’s not something we should be rushing.”
