Liverpool fans sent into meltdown after spotting what Arne Slot’s dream January transfer did on social media

One of Liverpool’s reported transfer targets has sent the Reds fans into meltdown after an apparent social media move.

Arne Slot has made a fine start to life at Anfield with Liverpool currently top in the Premier League and the Champions League.

Dutchman Slot has only lost one match so far as Liverpool’s head coach, a shock 1-0 defeat by Nottingham Forest in the Premier League at Anfield.

After such a promising start to the season, Liverpool have been linked with a host of different players ahead of what could be a crucial January transfer window.

Last week, it was reported that Liverpool and rivals Manchester United have shown interest in Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, who has impressed after the Cherries’ fine start to the season under Andoni Iraola.

Over the weekend, a social media account posted a picture of Kerkez viewing a post on Instagram that had the Hungarian wearing a Liverpool shirt. (The Liverpool shirt was edited onto the Hungarian).

Reacting on social media, one fan said: “Milos Kerkez I see you bro.”

Another tweeted: “I’ve been sitting on the Kerkez train for a bit now. Ideally, I would like him to have another full season with Bournemouth. Still very young. Robbo & Kostas are more than capable for now.”

A third fan added: “Here we go again.”

Back in the summer of 2023, Kerkez left Dutch side AZ Alkmaar for the Premier League when he signed for Bournemouth in a deal worth a reported fee of £15.5 million.

Previously, the 21-year-old Hungarian played for Italian Serie A giants AC Milan but failed to make a first-team appearance.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for a new left-back after regular first-choice Andy Robertson’s slight drop in form.

Speaking recently, the Scotland captain admitted, via TNT Sports: “The last couple of games I’ve been on the bench and I got doubters for the first time in a long time, first time at this club.

“But it suits me in this position. I am trying to prove people wrong again.”

Robertson added: “I missed pre-season, which is never ideal for any player. And then I have had the ankle struggles. I got another knock on it against Wolves and it took a bit of time to settle down.

“So, look, I feel good. Obviously, taking a couple of games out was frustrating. I want to play every game, of course, but that was not possible. I knew that the next time I got a chance I would take it and that’s what I tried to do.”Featured Image Credit: Getty
